Application of HumiSeal 1C63
To achieve the best results with conformal coatings, it is important to apply them to substrates that have been properly cleaned before coating or to those assembled with low residue, “no clean” materials. Users should conduct sufficient testing to verify compatibility between the conformal coating, assembly materials, process conditions, and cleanliness level. For further details, please contact a HumiSeal® representative.
HumiSeal® 1C63 is formulated for application without the need for thinning. Solvents or other thinners should not be mixed with the product. It can be applied using spray, brushing, flow coating, or dipping methods. The time required for the coating to reach a tack-free state depends on ambient temperature and humidity, with processing guidelines based on a relative humidity of 50%.
Spraying
HumiSeal® 1C63 can be applied using conventional spraying equipment. Ensure that the area is adequately ventilated to carry away vapors and mist from the operator. Thinning is not necessary or recommended.
Brushing
The uniformity of the coating depends on the component density and the operator’s technique.
Curing
HumiSeal® 1C63 is a highly cross-linked coating. To achieve maximum cross-linking, the product must be exposed to the proper spectral output. The required dosage and irradiance values for curing the coating are outlined below. After UV exposure and cooling to room temperature, the coating should become tack-free.
HumiSeal® 1C63 is designed for curing with a microwave UV oven using an "H" style bulb. Although arc systems can also cure the product, extra care should be taken during equipment selection to ensure the minimum dosage and irradiance values are achieved. For guidance on equipment and process optimization, it is highly recommended to consult with HumiSeal® Technical Support.
