Application of HumiSeal 1C55
HumiSeal® 1C55 is a versatile thermally cured conformal coating that can be applied to substrates that have been properly cleaned or assembled with low residue "no clean" materials. Before application, users should perform thorough testing to ensure compatibility with their specific assembly materials, process conditions, and cleanliness levels. For further guidance, please consult with a HumiSeal representative.
1C55 is designed for use without additional thinning. Solvents or other thinners should not be mixed with the product. It can be applied using spray, brushing, flow coating, or dipping methods. The time required to reach a tack-free state depends on ambient conditions such as temperature and relative humidity, with processing guidelines based on an ambient relative humidity of 50%.
Dipping
A controlled rate of immersion and withdrawal (5-15 cm/min) ensures even deposition of the coating, resulting in a uniform film. Blanketing dip tanks with inert gas like nitrogen can extend the product's pot life.
Spraying
HumiSeal® 1C55 can be applied using conventional spraying equipment. Adequate ventilation should be provided to ensure vapor and mist are carried away from the operator. Thinners are not required and should not be added.
Brushing
The uniformity of the film is influenced by component density and the operator's technique.
Curing
HumiSeal® 1C55 is a thermally cured coating. The curing temperature will vary based on factors like heat sink characteristics, oven type, and loading parameters. The curing mechanism may be inhibited by materials such as amines, acrylates, or certain latex rubber ingredients. It's recommended that material and process compatibility be verified before integrating HumiSeal® 1C55 into production. Cotton gloves are advised for operators handling assemblies prior to coating.
