Application of HumiSeal® 1C48

HumiSeal® 1C48 is a conformal coating designed for direct application without the need for thinning. It is compatible with substrates that have been cleaned or assembled with low-residue, “no clean” materials. Before applying the coating, users should test compatibility with their specific materials, process conditions, and cleanliness levels. For additional guidance, please contact HumiSeal.

The coating can be applied using various methods including spray, brushing, flow coating, or dipping. The time to reach a tack-free state depends on environmental factors such as temperature and relative humidity. The guidelines provided are based on a relative humidity of 50%.

Brushing

The uniformity of the coating film depends on the component density and the operator's technique.

Dipping

For even deposition, a controlled rate of immersion and withdrawal (5-15 cm/min) is recommended. Using inert gases like nitrogen to blanket dip tanks can help extend the coating’s pot life.

Spraying

HumiSeal® 1C48 can be sprayed using conventional equipment in a well-ventilated area to prevent vapor and mist inhalation. No thinner is required or recommended for application.

Storage

When stored in original containers at temperatures between 5 ºC and 40 ºC, HumiSeal® 1C48 has a shelf life of up to 12 months. After opening, containers should be purged with dry nitrogen to prevent exposure to moisture. For extended storage, refrigerate at temperatures below 10 ºC, and allow the product to equilibrate at room temperature before use.
