Application of HumiSeal UV50
When applying conformal coatings, it is essential that substrates are cleaned before coating, and can also be effectively coated when assembled with low-residue, “no clean” materials. To ensure compatibility, users should perform adequate testing to confirm that the conformal coating is compatible with their assembly materials, process conditions, and cleanliness levels. For further details, please contact HumiSeal®.
Spraying
HumiSeal® UV50 can be applied using standard selective coating equipment or conventional hand spray equipment. It is crucial to use dry source air (a dry inert gas is highly recommended) to prevent premature curing of the secondary cure mechanism. Additionally, spraying should be done in well-ventilated areas to ensure that vapors and mist are effectively removed from the operator's vicinity.
Brushing
For rework or touch-up purposes, HumiSeal® UV50 can be applied by brush. After use, it is important to clean the brush promptly with a solvent.
Clean-Up
To clean equipment and remove uncured HumiSeal® UV50, non-alcohol based solvents such as HumiSeal® Thinner 521 or Thinner 521EU are recommended.
Rework
As HumiSeal® UV50 is a highly cross-linked UV-cured coating, its cured film offers strong environmental and chemical resistance, making it more challenging to remove than traditional coatings. For rework, thermal displacement, mechanical abrasion, or HumiSeal® Stripper 1100 (where available) are effective methods.
