Application of UV40HV
To ensure proper application, conformal coatings should be applied to substrates that have been cleaned prior to coating, as well as to those assembled with low-residue, “no clean” materials. It is essential for users to perform adequate testing to confirm compatibility between the conformal coating and their specific assembly materials, process conditions, and cleanliness levels. For further assistance, please contact HumiSeal®.
Spraying
HumiSeal® UV40HV can be applied using standard selective coating equipment or conventional hand spray equipment. To prevent premature curing of the secondary cure mechanism, dry source air (inert gases such as nitrogen or argon are recommended) should be used. Proper ventilation is necessary to carry away any vapor and mist from the operator.
Brushing
For rework or touch-ups, HumiSeal® UV40HV may be applied by brush. Brushes should be cleaned promptly with solvent after use.
Clean Up
Non-alcohol-based solvents should be used to flush equipment and clean uncured HumiSeal® UV40HV. HumiSeal® Thinner 521 or Thinner 521EU is recommended for this purpose.
Rework
HumiSeal® UV40HV forms a highly cross-linked, UV-cured coating that offers excellent environmental and chemical resistance. As a result, it may be more difficult to remove than traditional conformal coatings. Thermal displacement, mechanical abrasion, or HumiSeal® Stripper 1100 can be used to facilitate rework of the cured coating.
