Application of HumiSeal 2A64
For successful application of HumiSeal® 2A64, the cleanliness of the substrate is crucial. Contamination under the coating can lead to issues that may cause assembly failures. To ensure optimal performance, surfaces must be free moisture, dirt, wax, grease, flux residues, and any other contaminants. If applying this product over “no clean” assembly materials, users should conduct sufficient testing to confirm the compatibility and reliability of the coated assembly.
The recommended mixing ratio of Part A to Part B is 1:1 by volume. Before use, thoroughly mix HumiSeal® 2A64 Parts A and B until a homogeneous blend is achieved. Vigorous mixing should be avoided. Allow the mixed coating to settle for 30 minutes to let any air bubbles formed during blending escape.
Brushing
HumiSeal® 2A64 can be applied by brushing. The uniformity of the film will depend on the density of the components and the technique used by the operator.
Dipping
Depending on the complexity, density, and configuration of components on the assembly, you may need to reduce the viscosity of the prepared HumiSeal® 2A64 with HumiSeal® Thinner 64 to achieve a uniform film. After determining the optimal viscosity, maintain a controlled rate of immersion and withdrawal (5-15 cm/min) to ensure even coating deposition. The evaporation of solvent will cause viscosity to increase, so small amounts of HumiSeal® Thinner 64 should be added to maintain consistency. Regular viscosity checks with a Zahn or Ford viscosity cup are recommended.
Spraying
HumiSeal® 2A64 can be sprayed with conventional spraying equipment. Ensure the spraying area is well-ventilated to carry vapors and mist away the operator. To achieve a uniform spray pattern and avoid pinholes, it is necessary to add HumiSeal® Thinner 64. The recommended ratio of prepared HumiSeal® 2A64 to Thinner 64 is 1:1 by volume, although this may be adjusted depending on the specific spray equipment and operator technique.
Storage
Store HumiSeal® 2A64 Parts A and B in tightly sealed containers, away excessive heat or cold, at temperatures between 0 to 35°C. Before use, allow the product to equilibrate for 24 hours at room temperature (18 to 32°C).
Caution
Application of HumiSeal® Conformal Coatings must adhere to local and national health and safety regulations. Since the solvents in HumiSeal® Conformal Coatings are flammable, do not use the product in the presence of open flame or sparks. Ensure adequate ventilation to avoid inhalation of vapors or spray, and avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Always consult the MSDS/SDS before use.
