Application of HumiSeal® 1A67
For the successful application of a conformal coating, the cleanliness of the substrate is crucial. Surfaces must be free of moisture, dirt, wax, grease, and any other contaminants. If not, ionic or organic residues could be trapped beneath the coating, potentially causing issues with adhesion or electrical properties. The best long-term reliability for a coated printed circuit assembly occurs when the conformal coating is applied to a clean, dry substrate.
It is common practice to apply conformal coatings over no-clean flux. Users should conduct adequate testing to confirm compatibility between the conformal coating, their assembly materials, and process conditions. For additional information, please contact HumiSeal.
Spraying
HumiSeal® 1A67 can be applied using conventional spraying equipment. Ensure that the environment is well-ventilated to allow for the proper dissipation of vapor and mist. To achieve a uniform spray pattern and a pinhole-free film, it is necessary to add HumiSeal® Thinner 600. The amount of thinner and spray pressure will vary based on the spray equipment and operator technique.
Brushing
HumiSeal® 1A67 can also be brushed on with a small addition of HumiSeal® Thinner 600. The uniformity of the coating will depend on the component density and the operator’s technique.
Storage
Store HumiSeal® 1A67 in tightly closed containers, away excessive heat or cold. The product should be stored at temperatures between 0°C and 35°C. Before use, allow the product to equilibrate for 24 hours at room temperatures of 18°C to 32°C.

Application of HumiSeal® Conformal Coatings should adhere to local and national health and safety regulations. The solvents in these coatings are flammable. Avoid using the material near open flames or sparks. Always work in well-ventilated areas to prevent inhalation of vapors or spray, and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
