Application of HumiSeal 1A20
To achieve optimal results, conformal coatings should be applied to substrates that are thoroughly cleaned beforehand or assembled with low-residue “no clean” materials. It is important for users to conduct adequate testing to verify compatibility between the conformal coating and their specific assembly materials, process conditions, and cleanliness levels. For further assistance, please reach out to a HumiSeal representative.
Dipping
Depending on the complexity, density, and configuration of components on the assembly, it might be necessary to adjust the viscosity of HumiSeal 1A20 using HumiSeal Thinner 521 to ensure a uniform film. A controlled rate of immersion and withdrawal (typically 5 to 15 cm/min) helps achieve even coating application. As solvent evaporation during the process increases viscosity, small amounts of HumiSeal® Thinner 521 should be added to maintain optimal conditions. Regular viscosity checks in the dip tank can be performed using simple devices like a Zahn or Ford viscosity cup.
Spraying
HumiSeal 1A20 is compatible with conventional spraying equipment and should be applied in a well-ventilated area to carry away vapors and mist. Adding HumiSeal® Thinner 521 ensures a uniform spray pattern and a pinhole-free finish. The exact ratio of HumiSeal 1A20 to HumiSeal Thinner 521 (typically 1:1 by volume) and spray pressure should be adjusted based on the specific equipment and operator technique to achieve optimal coating results.
Brushing
HumiSeal 1A20 can also be applied by brushing, with a small amount of HumiSeal Thinner 521 added if needed. Achieving a uniform film will depend on the density of components and the operator's technique.
