Application of HumiSeal 1A34
To ensure successful application, conformal coatings should be applied to substrates that are thoroughly cleaned beforehand or to those assembled with low-residue "no clean" materials. Users are advised to conduct appropriate testing to confirm the compatibility of the conformal coating with their specific assembly materials, process conditions, and cleanliness levels. For more details, please contact HumiSeal®.
Dipping
Depending on the complexity and configuration of the components on the assembly, it may be necessary to reduce the viscosity of HumiSeal® 1A34 using HumiSeal® Thinner 521 or 521EU for a uniform film. Once the optimal viscosity is achieved, a controlled immersion and withdrawal rate (5-15 cm/min) will ensure consistent coating deposition. During application, solvent evaporation may increase viscosity, requiring occasional adjustments with small amounts of HumiSeal® Thinner 521 or 521EU. Regular viscosity checks should be done using a Zahn or Ford viscosity cup.
Spraying
HumiSeal® 1A34 can be applied using conventional spraying equipment. Ensure the environment is well-ventilated to carry away vapor and mist. To achieve a uniform, pinhole-free spray pattern, add HumiSeal® Thinner 521 or 521EU as needed. The amount of thinner and spray pressure should be adjusted based on the type of equipment used and the operator’s technique. A 1:1 ratio of HumiSeal® 1A34 to HumiSeal® Thinner 521 or 521EU is recommended, though adjustments may be needed to ensure proper coating.
Brushing
HumiSeal® 1A34 can also be brushed on with a small amount of HumiSeal® Thinner 521 or 521EU. The uniformity of the coating will depend on component density and the operator’s technique.
Storage
HumiSeal® products should be stored in a cool, dry location at temperatures between 0 and 35°C. HumiSeal® 1A34 must be kept away direct sunlight and excessive heat in tightly sealed containers. If the product has been partially used, the container should be purged with dry nitrogen before resealing. Before application, allow the product to equilibrate for 24 hours at a room temperature between 18 and 32°C.
Caution
The application of HumiSeal® Conformal Coatings must comply with local and national health and safety regulations. Since the solvents in HumiSeal® coatings are flammable, the product should not be used in the presence of open flames or sparks. Always use in well-ventilated areas to minimize inhalation of vapors or spray. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Be sure to consult the MSDS/SDS before use for safety precautions.
