HumiSeal® 1R32A-2 offers the following features:
-
A fast-drying, single-component acrylic coating.
-
Formulated for improved adhesion to typical substrates, providing excellent moisture and environmental protection for printed circuit assemblies.
-
Fluoresces under UV light for easy inspection and is easily repairable.
HumiSeal® 1R32A-2 conformal coating also meets the following standards:
- IPC-CC-830 compliance.
- RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU.
- UL File Number E105698.
Application of HumiSeal® 1R32A-2
For the successful application of HumiSeal® 1R32A-2, ensuring the cleanliness of the substrate is critical. Surfaces must be free moisture, dirt, wax, grease, flux residues, and other contaminants, as contamination beneath the coating may lead to assembly failures.
Dipping
Depending on the complexity and configuration of components on the assembly, it may be necessary to reduce the viscosity of HumiSeal® 1R32A-2 using HumiSeal® Thinner 503 or 505 to achieve a uniform film. Once the optimum viscosity is determined, maintain a controlled rate of immersion and withdrawal (5-15 cm/min) to ensure even deposition of the coating. As the solvent evaporates during application, the viscosity will increase and should be adjusted by adding small amounts of HumiSeal® Thinner 503 or 505. Regular viscosity checks should be conducted using a Zahn or Ford viscosity cup.
Spraying
HumiSeal® 1R32A-2 can be applied using conventional spraying equipment. Ensure the spraying is done in a well-ventilated area to remove vapor and mist away the operator. To achieve a uniform spray pattern and prevent pinholes in the film, the addition of HumiSeal® Thinner 521, 521EU, or 600 is recommended. The exact amount of thinner and spray pressure will depend on the specific spray equipment and operator technique. A typical ratio of HumiSeal® 1R32A-2 to HumiSeal® Thinner 521, 521EU, or 600 is 1:1 by volume, though adjustments may be necessary for uniform coverage.
Brushing
For brushing, HumiSeal® 1R32A-2 can be used with a small amount of HumiSeal® Thinner 503 or 505. The uniformity of the coating will depend on the component density and the skill of the operator.
Storage
Store HumiSeal® 1R32A-2 in tightly sealed containers, away extreme heat or cold. It should be stored within the temperature range of 0 to 35°C. Prior to use, allow the product to equilibrate for 24 hours at room temperature (18-32°C).
Caution
Application of HumiSeal® Conformal Coatings must be conducted in accordance with local and national health and safety regulations. As the solvents in HumiSeal® Conformal Coatings are flammable, the material should not be used near open flames or sparks. Always use in well-ventilated areas to avoid inhaling vapors or spray, and avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Be sure to consult the MSDS/SDS for detailed safety information before use.
