HumiSeal® 1B73 is a single-component, fast-drying acrylic conformal coating that offers excellent flexibility and electrical properties. It fluoresces under UV light for easy inspection and can be easily repaired. HumiSeal® 1B73 is qualified to MIL-I-46058C, meets IPC-CC-830 standards, complies with RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, and is recognized under UL File Number E105698.
Application of HumiSeal® 1B73
For effective application of conformal coatings, it is essential that substrates are properly cleaned or assembled with low-residue “no clean” materials. Adequate testing should be conducted to ensure compatibility between the conformal coating and specific assembly materials, process conditions, and cleanliness levels. For more information, please reach out to HumiSeal®.
Dipping
To achieve a uniform film on assemblies with varying component configurations and densities, it may be necessary to reduce the viscosity of HumiSeal® 1B73 using HumiSeal® Thinner 73. Once the optimum viscosity is established, a controlled immersion and withdrawal rate of 5-15 cm/min should be maintained to ensure even coating deposition. As the solvent evaporates during application, viscosity increases and should be adjusted by adding small amounts of HumiSeal® Thinner 73.
Spraying
HumiSeal® 1B73 can be sprayed using conventional equipment. Adequate ventilation is required to carry away vapors and mist the operator. To achieve a uniform spray pattern and a pinhole-free film, HumiSeal® Thinner 73 should be added. The recommended ratio of HumiSeal® 1B73 to Thinner 73 is 1:1 by volume, although this may need to be adjusted based on the spray equipment used and operator technique.
Brushing
HumiSeal® 1B73 can also be brushed, with a small addition of HumiSeal® Thinner 73. The uniformity of the coating will depend on the component density and the skill of the operator.
Storage
HumiSeal® 1B73 should be stored in tightly closed containers, away excessive heat or cold, within the temperature range of 0 to 35°C. Allow the product to equilibrate for 24 hours at a room temperature of 18 to 32°C prior to use.
Caution
Ensure that the application of HumiSeal® Conformal Coatings follows local and national health and safety regulations. The solvents used are flammable, and the material should not be used near open flames or sparks. Always work in well-ventilated areas to avoid inhalation of vapors or spray. Avoid skin and eye contact. Please consult the SDS prior to use.
