3M Confirms Discontinuation of Novec 7100 Fluorinated Fluid
3M has officially announced that it will discontinue the production of all fluoropolymers, fluorinated fluids, and products containing PFAS-based additives by the end of 2025. This strategic decision signals a major shift for industries that have long relied on 3M’s high-performance specialty materials.
Well-known product families such as 3M Novec 7100, Novec coatings, precision cleaning agents, and advanced cooling fluids have been widely recognized for their reliability, safety profile, and outstanding thermal performance across electronics, semiconductor, aerospace, and industrial applications. The upcoming discontinuation leaves many businesses actively seeking stable and high-performance alternatives.
Introducing a Reliable Alternative: Galden® HT-70
In response to this transition, Hicotech is pleased to present Galden HT-70 as a dependable replacement for 3M Novec 7100 Engineered Fluid.
Galden HT PFPE fluids are chemically inert, dielectric, and engineered for high-performance heat transfer applications. With boiling points ranging 55°C to 270°C, this product family offers a broader operating window compared to many other fluorinated heat transfer fluids. Their exceptional thermal stability allows continuous operation at end-use temperatures up to 290°C, making them an ideal solution for demanding thermal management systems.
