1. High-Performance Heat Transfer Fluids
Galden® HT PFPE fluids are chemically inert, dielectric heat transfer solutions engineered to operate across a broad boiling range 55°C to 270°C. This wide spectrum enables precise fluid selection to optimize thermal management performance in demanding environments.
Extensively used in the semiconductor and electronics industries, Galden® HT fluids are ideal for applications requiring non-conductive, low-viscosity liquids capable of withstanding extreme temperatures. They are commonly applied in thermal exchange systems, electronic testing equipment, and advanced server cooling systems.
High Boiling (HB) grades operate efficiently between 150°C and 290°C. These grades can replace higher-evaporation liquids, helping reduce operational costs and fluid consumption. Thanks to their exceptional chemical inertness, Galden® PFPE fluids are also highly suitable for electronic cleaning processes.

2. Vapor Phase Soldering
Vapor Phase Soldering (VPS) is a precision process used to mount semiconductor components onto printed circuit boards. This technology leverages the latent heat of condensation Galden® PFPE vapors to uniformly melt solder paste, ensuring strong, reliable metallic joints.
Galden® LS and HS grades provide an advanced lead-free solution for VPS applications up to 260°C. Their precisely controlled vapor temperature prevents overheating and protects sensitive electronic components. The narrow molecular weight distribution minimizes evaporation of low-boiling fractions and eliminates boiling point drift during operation.
LS/HS grades offer one of the broadest temperature ranges available for lead-free VPS processing while maintaining stability at elevated temperatures. All materials are fully RoHS compliant, supporting environmentally responsible manufacturing.

3. Thermal Shock Testing
Thermal shock testing evaluates the ability of electronic devices to withstand sudden and extreme temperature changes. The process involves alternately immersing components in hot and cold fluids to simulate harsh operating conditions.
Galden® D products are compatible with both dual-fluid and single-fluid thermal exchange systems. Traditional dual-fluid systems use separate hot and cold baths, which can lead to high fluid loss, cross-contamination, increased downtime, and complex inventory management.
By contrast, Galden® PFPE fluids enable efficient single-fluid system operation, where the same fluid is used in both baths. This approach significantly reduces fluid consumption, prevents cross-contamination, minimizes equipment downtime, and simplifies inventory control—resulting in lower overall operating costs.
4. Hermetic Seal Testing
Hermetic sealing is essential to protect electronic components moisture ingress that can compromise silicon chip performance. Leak detection testing ensures complete sealing integrity.
Galden® PFPE fluids are widely used as detector and indicator fluids due to their chemical inertness and residue-free performance. Galden® D detector fluids are formulated with a balanced distribution of low- and high-boiling components, enabling detection of both large and micro-leaks.
High-boiling fractions penetrate larger leaks and remain in liquid form until inspection, while low-boiling fractions effectively enter smaller leaks. Additionally, Galden® D low-consumption indicator fluids offer higher boiling points and reduced vapor pressure at test temperatures, enhancing detection accuracy and efficiency.
5. High-Purity Solvent Solutions
Galden® SV grades are low molecular weight, CFC-free solvents designed for maximum safety and performance. These inert, non-toxic, odorless, and colorless fluids contain no flash point, fire point, or auto-ignition temperature, ensuring exceptional operational safety.
Their chemical stability makes them ideal for cleaning processes involving hot components, pre-heated systems, or pressure spray applications. Galden® SV fluids are also used as carrier fluids for fluorinated lubricants, including Syensqo’s Fomblin® PFPE lubricants, providing reliable delivery and uniform application.
6. Fuel Cell Manufacturing
Galden® HT heat transfer fluids are recognized as among the safest dielectric fluids used in fuel cell production. Their high thermal stability, chemical inertness, and complete absence of flash and fire points (FM Approved 6930) ensure safe and reliable operation under demanding manufacturing conditions.
These properties make Galden® HT fluids a preferred solution for advanced energy applications where safety, durability, and performance are critical.
